Pink Julep At The Movies: Shutter Island

For hubby's birthday yesterday we went out to a movie. There was a small celebration on Saturday, but being a Monday evening, there wasn't too much we could do last night. We opted to see Shutter Island and it was AMAZING!!! The story is brilliant! The actors were excellent! And I normally don't enjoy Scorcese films, but I must say, this is a work of art and quite possibly his best film in my humble opinion! The cinematography was really artistic and almost a character of the film. I highly recommend catching this one on the big screen for full effect and don't worry too much, it's creepy but not a thrasher film. I'd probably call it a suspense thriller if anything. Totally worth the ticket price and the bazillion dollar popcorn!!!

And I must say... Can somebody PLEASE give Leo an Oscar for goodness sake!?!?!?! He's more than earned it time and time again and this film is no exception.

Happy movie watching!!!

xoxo,
Pink Julep!

  2. Happy belated Birthday to your hubby and we saw Shutter Island over the weekend. I thought it was incredible too and that the cinematography was amazing. This is definitely one for the theaters.

P.S. I'm going to the Cayman Islands next month and will be there only for a day on a cruise (I wish it were longer). I've been there before and done Stingray City, Turtle Farm and Hell. Since you live there, I thought I would see if you had any good recommendations? I was thinking of even just spending the day on the beach.

  5. Thanks for the review, Pink Julep. I've been wondering if this movie would be too scary for me, I can't do scary. But your review will make me give it a second look!
