Barry M Magnetic Nail Polish

I've been wondering what all the fuss is about magnetic nail polish so I picked up the Barry M version at Superdrug last week. I half expected that after I painted my nails, all the kitchen appliances and silverware would stick to my fingers... Not really, but honestly, I didn't know what to expect.

I decided on Blue. Most of the available colours are quite dark so it's probably not the most summery of trends, but I though it might be nice for the upcoming Diamond Jubilee parties I'll be attending!

It's pretty easy to apply. You just start as you normally would with a base coat and one coat of the polish, then let that coat dry completely. Once it's dry, apply a 2nd coat and hover the included magnet as close as possible over the nails. This step needs to be done one-by-one because the polish is quick drying. Once the 2nd coat is completely dry, finish with a top coat. It sounds lengthy and laborious, but if you're using Barry M products, they all dry in about 5 minutes or less, so it really doesn't take very long.

Here's the result (pay no attention to the hack job on my nails):

The result is really cool - like a wavy marble pattern on your nails. It's also super shiny and smooth. I absolutely love it! True, it's not for everyone or every situation... I might not wear it to work if I were working in a hospital or corporate job, but it's fun for a weekend, a night out or for fashion-forward fashionistas who just love nail art!

What nail trends are you really into these days?

  2. I've actually never heard of this nail polish trend. You learn something new everyday, eh? It does look pretty cool on the nails.
