Lookbook: Dress Code

Sag Harbour Sweater / Lucky Jeans / Dune Ankle Boots

If I'm being honest, most days, I am not a super glamorous girl. I blog full time and do a bit of freelancing so it's not like I have to go to the office every day... On days that I don't have meetings or events to attend, it's entirely possible that no one sees me at all aside from my husband. Not only that, but with reviews to put together for Pink Julep, I'm often trying out a face mask instead of wearing a face full of make-up. I'm certainly not the type of girl who puts on a lot of make-up if I'm not seeing anyone... What's the point? Why not give my skin a break?

So, when I don't have somewhere to be, my daily look is a bit different. I generally don't over-style my hair, but leave it a bit more natural, something that I learned is very de rigueur in Paris. I tend to favor more comfortable shoes or boots and keep it casual in the way of clothes... I've become rather fond of wearing jeans over the past few months, possibly for the first time in my life.

I'm curious to know... When you're at home, whether it be during the week or over the weekend, and there's no one there to see you, what do you wear? Do you put on make-up, do your hair & don your favorite heels as you would do if you had a house full of guests, stay in your pajamas all day or do you prefer a happy medium?

  1. You still look very pulled together, just comfortable! I'm a big fan of the ballet flat, jeans or trousers and cardigan. Super comfortable but not embarrassing if I bump into someone in the grocery store.

    1. Thank you! Ballet flats are my go to in Spring & Summer too, but it's starting to get a little chilly to wear them now... As long as my feet are warm, I'm warm! :-) xx

  2. You still love very pulled together, just comfortable! I tend toward ballet flats, jeans or loose trousers and a cardigan. Super comfortable but not embarrassing if I run into someone at the grocery store!

  3. I'm so glad you posted this. People think I'm this glamour puss as they see me dressed up when out of the house. But when I'm working at home I'm in Jack Wills jogging pants, t-shirt and hoody. Oh don't forget the slippers which at M&S wooly boots! Very little make up, if any, as I like to let my skin have a rest and glasses. Not so glamourous huh?
