On Sunday I visited my favorite London museum, the V&A for the Hollywood Costume Exhibit and it was magnificent! I had heard from a reliable source that it would be amazing, but it was even better than I expected! There were costumes from every film you could imagine from Gone With the Wind to Fight Club and even some films I'd never heard of, all displayed in a very creative presentation complete with Hollywood film score music to get you in the mood!
There is literally something for everyone to enjoy at the Hollywood Costumes Exhibit with costumes of famous characters such as Indiana Jones, Spiderman, James Bond, Scarlet O'Hara, Dorothy Gale and Jack Sparrow. Fashionistas can get particularly giddy knowing that the gorgeous dress from Atonement is on display as is the iconic yellow dress from How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days along with the Isadora Diamond! The classic black dress from Breakfast at Tiffany's designed by Givenchy and the black tutu from Black Swan designed by Rodarte are shown in a way that they're close enough to touch giving a lovely view of the detail of each piece. It's breathtaking to be standing so close to such important fashion history! One of my favorite costumes on display was Marilyn Monroe's classic white dress from Seven Year Itch second only to Scarlet's dress made from the drapes.
Very cool! I would love to see some of my favorite costumes in person. Too bad I'm all the way in Chicago!

I love Madame Tussaud's! x
DeleteWow. All I can say is that I am so jealous! This exhibition looks so incredible. I love Atonement. I actually had a green silk dress made in Hong Kong to replicate it!!
ReplyDeleteLoved that dress in the film, but it wasn't as pretty in person...
