Golden Globes Style Notes - I'd Have Loved That if Only...

When you see photos of red carpet looks, how many times do you say to yourself, I'd love that if the dress were longer? Or I'd have loved that if only she'd worn her hair down? Well, this is my list of 'if only's' from last night's Golden Globes. So many looks had potential, but just didn't get there... It was a whole lot of 'close but no cigar' if you know what I mean.

Let's start with Caley Cuoco. Her nude Zuhair Murad dress was amazing! However she looks like she just rolled out of bed after a KISS concert the night before. Her hair is too messy and her make-up is too severe. Her nail polish is a bit too dark as well. The beauty decisions in this case completely ruined this look for me.

I'd have loved Francis Fisher's look if only it didn't look like a costume she'd stolen from Titanic.

I'd have loved Maria Menounos's look if she'd done ANYTHING to make it more interesting! I would've styled this dress with Turquoise statement earrings and a fuchsia satin clutch to give it a bit of zhush.

Emily Deschanel's dress and accessories are gorgeous, but her hair is too tight. A loose, mussed updo with curls would've been nice.

Alyssa Milano's dress is great, but her clutch is not. And those turquoise earrings aren't complimentary to this shade of gold... I'd have gone for jet black statement earrings instead.

Alison Williams's dress would be perfect if it didn't have the sequins seem going straight down the middle. It's a bit distracting. Also, her hair is too tight for the neckline. I'm also not a fan of the peach earrings - I'd have gone for a brighter color like magenta, coral or turquoise.

Alison Pill would have looked perfect if only she'd worn different shoes. I think with this dress, she needed a pair of pointy toe silver pumps.

Jessica Alba looks stunning, but I'm not going to pretend to understand her clutch. For me, it's a deal breaker.

This is a fantastic gown and Zosia Mamet has an amazing figure. However, with very little make-up, no jewelry and slicked back hair, it's dull and a lost opportunity.

Jason Bateman's wife looks lovely. However, Katy Perry just wore this dress a few weeks ago... Red carpet faux pas, no?

Eva Longoria is fierce, but this dress reminds me way too much of a chorus girl costume. I would love this dress, if only it didn't have the slit.

Kerry Washington would have made my best dressed list, if only her dress was sheer in both front and back... But it's not.

If only Katherine McPhee's dress was a little bit longer...

If only Nicole Richie had worn lipstick and carried a different clutch...

If only Salma Hayek had chosen a more glamorous hairstyle...

If only Heidi Klum's shoulder pad wasn't quite so huge...

If only Hayden Panetierre had done something better with her hair...

Did you have any 'if only' moments during the Golden Globes red carpet? If so, which ones?
