Hands down, Taylor Swift was my choice for best dressed at last night's People's Choice Awards! Wearing a sleek white Ralph Lauren gown accessorized with turquoise statement earrings, Tay Tay stole the spotlight. Perfection!
I also really loved Julianne Hough's look. I think 50's style fit & flare dresses and full skirts are making a big comeback, so she's right on trend in her Tony Ward Haute Couture dress. The colors & beading are beautiful and I like that she kept her hair simple and accessories to a minimum so the frock could really shine!
Ellen Pompeo rarely registers on my fashion radar, but she hit the jackpot in Lanvin on the People's Choice red carpet! This dress on its own might not look like much, but paired with a thick belt, sleek black shoes and a gold clutch, it really stands out. Ellen looked classy and most importantly, comfortable and confident. The relaxed wavy hair and simple, glowing make-up finished the look perfectly.
All I can say about Rumor Willis's look is WOW! Wearing an Alice + Olivia column gown, girlfriend looks like a 10 foot tall goddess. Rumor's hair & make-up is the perfect finish for her glamazon red carpet look.
Sandra Bullock's red carpet look from the People's Choice Awards is a little questionable I'll admit, but I just keep coming back to it. I love this Vera Wang dress with a lacy bodice and pinstripe skirt. The pink shoes pop and compliment the blue as well. Though I would've gone a different direction with hair & make-up, it's not bad. All in all, I love the risk taken here - I just wish there was some more jewelry.
Kristen Kreuk's stunning frock takes the idea of a sequined skirt to the next level. I love the color and the earrings are a lovely compliment. Her simple, pulled-back hair is just right for the asymmetrical bodice of the dress and a turquoise clutch adds a complimentary pop of color. Kristen's shoes are fine, but a little boring - I would've gone for a pointy toe shoe instead, but otherwise, this is a lovely, fun red carpet look!
Oh hai Rachel Leigh Cook! We haven't seen you in a while, but time has been kind to you! Rachel's bright Oliver Tolentino gown is gorgeous and complimented perfectly by a heavy metal statement necklace & teal clutch. The quirky, waify bun matches Rachels pixie look. She looked great!
This is a risky dress, but Erinn Hayes took a chance and pulled it off perfectly by keeping her shoes & accessories simple, rocking a gorgeous tan, balancing out the crazy dress with a classy up-do and adding a pop of red in the clutch to keep it from looking too gothy. Well done!
Brittany Snow channelled the 1920's in her lemon yellow Maria Lucia Hohan frock. The look isn't perfect by any stretch, but it's nice to see something new and different on the red carpet.
Eddie Redmayne 's 3-piece suit is very cool! I love the contrasting vest, the pocket square and the messy hair. This look is fun, relaxed and a lovely departure from boring tuxedos and dark suits on the red carpet.
Oh how the Heidi have fallen... This is a mess. Heidi's Julien Macdonald dress is not flattering and the pointy toe stilettos are too severe for this dress. The slicked back hair isn't working for me either.
Emma Watson looks like she was dressed by Kristen Stewart and it doesn't work for her the way it does for K-Stew. The shoes cut her legs at the ankle, making them look shorter, her hair is flat and looks a bit dirty and the red lip is too severe, leaving her looking a bit washed out. I expect better from Emma Watson.
I want to like this... I really do, but there's just something about it that doesn't work. I think this leather Christian Dior dress ages Jennifer Aniston. I applaud the risk-taking, but I think she should go back to what she's good at in terms of red carpet fashion.
Disco is dead, but clearly Jennifer Lawrence didn't get the memo. She's always so amazing on the red carpet that this shocked me! This Valentino Couture dress is pretty, but it's not flattering. Also, the shoes are a bit tacky and she looks like she did her hair in the dark. Here's hoping she does better next time.
Caley Cuoco's Christian Siriano dress is a good idea gone wrong. The uneven hemline looks messy and the asymmetric sheer wrap at the top makes it look like she's wrapped in cling film. Also, the platform heels need to go and the dark toenail polish is distracting. Mix all of that with a Brigitte Bardot hairstyle and it's a bit overkill...
I think I would like Katy Perry's dress a little better if it didn't have the plain black long sleeves. Overall, this isn't terrible, but the floral print seems too casual for an awards show.
I would like Jillian Rose Reed's look so much better if her dress fit her properly, but it doesn't.
Nikki Deloach chose a pretty dress, but it's not flattering, the color is blah and her 90's prom hair isn't making it any better.
I love the color of Lea Michelle's Elie Saab gown, however it's too short & sheer. She looks a little too naked and not in a good way. See how she's pulling at her hemline? If you have to constantly pull it down, it's not a good choice for the red carpet.
Rocsi Diaz is so cute and she almost pulls off this look. I love the colors mixed with the leopard print, but the uneven hemline right in front, the cut-out shoulders and the super high platform Mary Janes make this look more Red Light than Red Carpet. At least it's not boring though...
