We're now in that weird time of year where every now and then, the sun comes out just to tease us. Not only does this yo-yo weather make us too excited too soon for summer, but it also plays havoc with our wardrobe choices. How are you supposed to rock the chunky cashmere sweater and furry boots you planned to wear when it's sunny and warm outside?

As it gets closer to Spring, my internal fashion alarm goes off and I switch from winter warmers mode to transitional mode. In short, I begin considering every purchase in terms of how I can wear it in Spring and/or Summer. I buy less sweaters and more cardigans. I look at sleeves... Can they be rolled up when it gets warmer? How can I layer this piece on colder, rainy days in April? I think less about heavy boots and move more toward still warm enough closed toe styles that are Springy enough to compliment my wardrobe later in the year.

Heading into Spring, lightweight shift and tunic style dresses can be your best friends. A great dress will look amazing on its own, but can also be worn with tights and a jacket or cardigan when it's a little too cool for comfort. This look is great the way it is, but will also work with a pair of opaque black tights. A chic black coat to keep warm will complete the look, but won't be necessary in a few months.

Have you started transition shopping yet? What are you buying these days that you plan to wear now through Spring & Summer?
