LFW - Cristina Sabaiduc A/W 2013

Love the back of this dress and how the bodice so seemlessly meets the skirt...

I love the gorgeous draping around the waist area of this dress!

I walked into the Portico Rooms at Somerset House for the Cristina Sabaiduc presentation to find a beautiful film featuring Angela Scanlon playing on two large screens in loop, a beautifully dressed artist painting live and scores of gorgeous ladies dressed in the collection milling about the reception enjoying champagne and chatting. It was all together a beautiful and unique scene, not to mention the perfect way to experience the clothes and the concept behind them.

I had the opportunity to chat with the designer for whom the eponymous label is named. We chatted mostly about her inspirations and her previous work on films leading to the decision to use the medium as part of her presentation. Inspired by natural elements coexisting in the world with industrial elements, Cristina Sabaiduc translates this man vs. nature concept beautifully to flowing, silky, feminine silhouettes that seem to skim women's bodies perfectly, moving gracefully with the body as they walk.

To the touch, Cristina Sabaiduc's pieces are luxuriously soft and every detail on each piece is perfection. From the live artist to the film to the beautiful creations parading around me, I was very impressed by the inventive presentation. As for the collection, Cristina Sabaiduc has succeeded in taking things that inspire her and turning them into beautiful creations that are unique, incredibly wearable and luxurious!
