Aubaine Restaurant Wimbledon

I was delighted to receive an e-mail last week asking me if I enjoy French food and inviting me to enjoy lunch at Aubaine in Wimbledon. I may not be adventurous enough with food to enjoy some of the really unusual cuisine, but I absolutely adore French restaurants!

Situated on High Street Wimbledon, Aubaine is a lovely oasis to escape from the busy hustle & bustle for a relaxed meal, a thirst-quenching cocktail or a dessert that's just as delicious as it is beautiful!

The delicious Mojito Royal champaign cocktail.

Gorgeous bread with real butter - swoon!

For lunch, I chose the ribeye steak with chips and peppercorn sauce. It was absolutely mouth-watering and cooked to perfection. My guest chose the sea bass with new potatoes, which was also amazing. Though my main course was beyond brilliant, I have to say the most exciting part of  my Aubaine Wimbledon experience was dessert. I mean, let's face it... Very few nations can compete with the French when it comes to dessert! Our waitress brought a board featuring several tempting options and it was so hard to decide, but I chose the large chocolate macaroon while my guest chose a raspberry cream tart. Both were amazing, but the chocolate macaroon is quite possibly one of the best desserts I've had in my life! The macaroon itself is chewy and flavorful the way it should be, but the filling is so creamy and packs a real punch of chocolatey goodness as well... Complemented beautifully by an espresso, it's the ultimate indulgence!

Aubaine Wimbledon is gorgeous inside, but if the weather cooperates, the real gem is the garden - beautifully decorated with mirrors, it's like a little piece of Versailles right here in London. Whether you're a couple, a group of friends or a family looking for a great place where your kids will be welcome, Aubaine is a great choice. Family friendly, cozy and tres chic, Aubaine offers a menu with plenty of variety in an atmosphere that's as relaxing as it is visually appealing. Also, if you're planning to go to Wimbledon for tennis this summer, keep Aubaine in mind for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner while you're in the area!
