Right Now - American Beer, Mexican Burritos & Hayseed Dixie

  1. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Hayseed Dixie in concert at the Half Moon in Putney... This amazing band can truly only be described as 'rockgrass'. Known for playing bluegrass covers of rock songs, these 5 pickers & grinners sure know how to have a good time! Playing songs from the likes of AC/DC, Queen, Pink Floyd & KISS, Hayseed Dixie had me "stompin one out" in true bluegrass fashion, but to songs I actually knew the words to. The band members are funny, entertaining and positively charming... It's well worth checking them out if you love rock and country in equal measures like I do.
  2. I FINALLY got my hands on a Chipotle burrito and it was just as good as I remembered! Yes, there is Chipotle in London - several locations actually. I took my British friend who'd never been before, but promptly thanked me for introducing her to the Barbacoa burrito... You're welcome! Yum!
  3. Totally obsessed with Jericho right now - I'm watching it on Netflix. If you've never heard of it, it's definitely worth watching, especially if you love shows like LOST and have an abnormal paranoia about nuclear disasters as I do. Great show!
  4. Calling all Americans in London - I recently found out that one of my favorite pubs, The White Horse (aka the Sloaney Pony) on Parson's Green is having an American Beer Festival over 4th of July weekend. So, if you love America or you love beer, but especially if you love both, then check it out!
  5. Fine watch lovers will once again unite for the Salon QP Fine Watch Exhibition, held annually at the Saatchi Gallery. I've been to Salon QP before and it's not just for watch nerds, though true appreciators of fine time pieces will be suitably entertained. Beyond the serious watch-lovers fancies are also exhibitors like Chanel, Bvlgari, Hermes and there's champagne as well. I personally really enjoyed the Salon QP Fine Watch Exhibition when I went - there's something for everyone and it's nice to do something different every once and a while. If you're a watch connoisseur, then this is really a no-brainer. Tickets are currently on sale for the event which takes place in November.
