Right Now - Vampires, Cover Bands, Deceptionists & Going Nutty for 21 Days

  1. I've been using the L'Oreal Elvive Smooth-Intense Shampoo & Conditioner and I absolutely love it! It promises frizz control and it totally delivers. I always have even frizzier than normal hair this time of year and this shampoo & conditioner with it's Moroccan Argan Oil formula keeps it under control. Anti-frizz however comes at a price... I have to wash my hair more often when using these products because my roots get oily faster than usual, but it's totally worth it and I suppose if I were in a rush, I could make do with dry shampoo for an extra day between washes.
  2. Over the weekend I went to my favorite little local music venue The Halfmoon Putney to see The Rollin Stoned, a Rolling Stones cover band. I'm not the biggest Stones fan in the world, but if you love them, then these guys are a good time, but do go with a sense of humor. They're not the real thing by any stretch...
  3. I've been listening to the new Vampire Weekend album and I really like it. It has a Paul Simon feel to it and it's a lot different to their previous albums, but very creative and fresh. I'm really excited to be seeing Vampire Weekend at a Gentlemen of the Road Presents Concert this summer with Mumford & Sons and some other great bands - it promises to be a great day! Check out my favorite songs from the new album Modern Vampires of the City on the Weekly Tune-up on Spotify.
  4. I'm headed to MINT Polo in the Park this weekend and I'm very excited! I'll be sharing coverage of the events here on Pink Julep so stay tuned. If you're in London, this event is not to be missed, so hurry up and grab a ticket before it's too late!
  5. I know I've been bragging on ESPA products quite a lot lately, but I've had the opportunity to try several products and they've all been brilliant so far. My latest favorite is the ESPA Energising Shower Gel - it smells amazing, it's soap free and it really is invigorating with eucalyptus and peppermint notes. Perfect for hard-going early mornings just before an amazing cup of coffee or as a post-gym shower treat for sore muscles! (c/o ESPA)
  6. I've been watching Lie to Me on Netflix - I'm completely obsessed! It's a crime drama about a man who developed a special scientific method of identifying liars by reading people's faces and it's fascinating. Definitely worth checking out if you've never seen it before.
  7. I'm just over half-way through the Almond Board of California's 21 day Snack Happy Challenge. Basically, I've been eating 23 almonds (a perfect handful) every day. Can't say I'm not enjoying it because almonds are delicious and by starting this project, it's forcing me to have at least one healthy snack every day. I'm already starting to change what I reach for when I'm feeling like I need a little nibble... Impressive results and I'm not even finished with the challenge yet. Why not join me? You can get more information on the website - click here.
Well, that's what's on my radar this week. Have you tried or seen anything new lately? Any recommendations?

** California Almonds has asked me to take part in the Snack Happy Challenge. They have provided me with all I need to complete the challenge. For more information about healthy snacking please visit
