BBQ at Aubaine Wimbledon & Picnic Baskets at Aubaine Kensington High Street

Every Thursday this Summer the lovely folks at Aubaine Wimbledon are hosting a barbecue and you're invited! Opening up the beautiful, flower-filled terrace and firing up the grill, a special menu is available featuring a fabulously French take on traditional BBQ favorites. For only £20, guests will enjoy a main dish from the grill, a side and a glass of rose, not to mention the amazing weather we've been having lately!

I popped down with my husband last Thursday to try it out... It was delicious, relaxing and a great way to spend a Thursday night!

 The Grill Master

Our dinner, freshly grilled before our eyes!

 A refreshing glass of rose...

 Delicious potato salad...

I ordered the fillet burger. I suspected it would be ground fillet formed into a burger and popped on the grill. Boy was I surprised to actually receive a fillet... There's something rather extravagant about having a fillet sandwich, not to mention tasty!

My husband ordered the Toulouse Sausages... To be honest, I ate half of these as well. I'm a bit funny about sausages - I don't believe all sausages are created equal and therefore, I'm usually quite careful about ordering them at restaurants. I have to admit, I was a bit sorry. Though the fillet burger is very good, these sausages are on a whole other level - quite possibly the nicest grilled sausages I've ever had!

Since the meal is only £20, there's very little reason not to stick around for dessert! I always love the beautiful desert display at Aubaine - tres magnifique!

And of course, I'm well impressed that the pastry chefs at Aubaine are celebrating the Royal Baby with a blueberry cheesecake macaron decorated with a golden crown. It's so cute!

Normally I'm a sucker for the chocolate macaron at Aubaine - it's a game changer. However, in the interest of providing further information about the dessert offering, I tried the chocolate eclair this time. It certainly does not disappoint, featuring a chocolate cream center that's cool and refreshing in summer and the perfect compliment to a latte or cappuccino after dinner!

I highly recommend the barbecue at Aubaine if you're in the Wimbledon area. The terrace there is so beautiful, the food is delicious and it's a great opportunity to unwind towards the end of the week!

Picnic Perfection

Just in case you find yourself in the mood for a picnic this Summer, Aubaine Kensington High Street is making it easy for you! For the month of August, you can reserve a picnic basket 24 hours in advance to collect before heading out for a sun-filled afternoon in Hyde Park.

Each eco-friendly box contains a selection of cheeses, sweet gormandises and homemade bread. What more could you possibly need to enjoy a lovely day out?
