Sheridan Comes to London Bringing a Great Night's Sleep

my bed with Sheridan Soft Sateen sheets - quilt & pillows made by my mother
I have now realized how much I've been cheating myself by not investing more in my sheets. I am guilty of spending £20 max on the sheets for my bed and I'm pretty sure I'm paying for it in other ways, namely in not sleeping well. Australian bedding brand Sheridan recently opened a shop on King's Road in London and after spending a night with their sheets, I can strongly attest to how amazing they are! I've had the best sleep in my life and I didn't want to get out of bed.

I was unfamiliar with Sheridan before the store launch, but I look forward to becoming a regular customer. While they specialize in sheets & bedding, they also make beautiful towels, pillows, scented candles and lounge accessories like sleep masks, scarves & robes. I'm particularly taken with the linen sheets, a Sheridan specialty that promises to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Having held them in my hands, I can attest to how soft and comfy they are. Also, the prints on various products in Sheridan are hand drawn by staff artists and unique to the brand, not to mention beautiful.

While at the launch of Sheridan, I learned a little something about thread count. We're all led to believe that the higher the thread count, the better the sheets, but apparently that's a myth. It's actually more important to find sheets made from quality fibers and to choose the thread count that feels the nicest on your skin… Your body will choose the weave that's best for you, so trust your instincts. If you visit the Sheridan store on King's Road, you can test out the various fabrics and thread counts by having a feel of the samples they have hanging on the back wall and you'll be able to see how different one might feel from the other.

Sheets Set ℅ Sheridan: Soft Sateen Fitted Sheet / Soft Sateen Flat Sheet / Soft Sateen Pair of Pillow Cases

The lovely folks at Sheridan offered me a set of the soft sateen sheets to try and honestly, they're amazing! They're super soft, beautiful, machine washable and can be put in the tumble dryer. While Sheridan sheets are more expensive than what I normally buy, I heard stories at the launch of people who mailed their 25 year old Sheridan sheets to the head office so that the brand's staff could see how well they last! With longevity like that, I'm more than happy to pay double or triple the price for my bedding. I can honestly say that I have learned my lesson and will be taking better care to purchase appropriate sheets in the future!
