Weekend Warrior - Pumped Up Smoothie



I rely heavily on smoothies and say what you will about the amount of sugary fruit, etc. but these delicious drinks tick a number of boxes for me personally. Firstly, I use a smoothie as a way to sneak in pretty much any and everything I don't normally like, but need. Prime examples include honey, yoghurt, berries and spinach. Besides that, smoothies can be quite filling, provide nourishment and are easily enjoyed while working or on the go. This particular smoothie also gives me an incredible boost of energy, so I often enjoy it on hard days, before long meetings where I need to focus for an extended period of time or just before hitting the gym.


I know I've posted smoothie recipes before and this one is similar to a previously posted recipe, but I've added a few things to the mix and amended it so it's worth taking a second look.

Ingredients
Generous handful of spinach leaves (fresh if possible, though I often freeze mine)
1 1/2 cups of mixed blueberries & raspberries (fresh or frozen)
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons fat-free Greek yoghurt
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon flax seeds
1 whole small apple or banana

Method
Mix all the ingredients in a blender until smooth. Enjoy cold. Makes about 1 pint glass full or two smaller glasses.
