Afternoon Tea at Salvatore's Bar

When you think of afternoon tea in London, I'm sure the last thing that pops into your mind is the Playboy Club… Think again. Now serving afternoon tea with a twist inside the iconic London club is Salvatore's Bar and it's a lot of fun!

This isn't your granny's tea… In fact, there isn't tea at all per say, but tea infused cocktails made of gin and other spirits, served in cast iron tea pots to keep them cool after starting of course with a cold glass of bubbles. With little serving cups for drinking, I recommend ordering different tea cocktails between friends and trying each of them. They're delicious! Also on offer are some modern takes on traditional tea foods with one level of a two tiered tray offering savory and the other bringing sweet. My favorite of course was the bunny ears cupcake - a chocolate cupcake topped with chocolate ears! The food is delicious, the cocktails are delightfully different and the atmosphere, complete with live pianist playing classical covers of current hits, is relaxing and fun. Unfortunately, there weren't any bunnies to be found when I attended tea at Salvatore's, however the vibe of the bar is very reminiscent of the Playboy style and harkened images of the Rat Pack in Vegas. Well worth a visit, afternoon tea at Salvatore's Bar in the Playboy Club is served Tuesday through Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. It's the perfect way to wind down after a hard day's work, brilliant for kicking off a hen or stag night in style and a fun way to experience an old tradition in a brand new way for tourists visiting London!
