Top 10 Picks for Best Dressed at The 2015 Golden Globes

Despite all the complaints I've heard & read about the red carpet at the Golden Globes being too tame, I must admit I was impressed by the stylish efforts of the celebrity A-listers on the red carpet this year. Old Hollywood glamour seemed to be a major trend and I've never seen so many cut-out dresses in one place… Consider that trend spotted! There was lots of black, lots of white, tons of sparkle and plenty of color. I must admit that some of the riskier looks were my favorite and without further ado, here are my top 10 favorite looks from the Golden Globes red carpet.

10. Allison Williams in Armani Prive

I don't love the whole look that's happening. There's too much eyeliner, too much hair product and I think the jewelery couldn't been much better, however there's no denying the gorgeousness of this dress - love it!

9. Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen
There's nothing terribly exciting about Salma Hayek's red carpet look at first glance and then it hits you… Her hair is perfect, the texture of her gown is breathtaking, it fits her perfectly, the jewelry is perfect, that clutch is amazing, the metallic belt accentuates her waist and I'm just going to say what we're all thinking… That figure! She looked amazing - this is how red carpet perfection is achieved.

8. Felicity Huffman

So, I've seen Felicity Huffman on some of the worst dressed lists out there and I just do not agree. I love this look and I love her dress! Felicity is wearing the cut-out trend beautifully in an age-appropriate way. She's sleek, chic and beautifully accessorized. I love her sexy hair and make-up and what's more, she's wearing beautiful FLATS! If you zoom in, you'll also see that her toes are perfectly pedicured and let's face it, she's sporting some seriously fit arms. Don't listen to the haters Felicity - they're just jealous!

7. Jessica Chastain in Versace

As far as I'm concerned, nobody does Old Hollywood like Jessica Chastain and she knows it works on her. What I love about this look is that while she's clearly having a Marilyn moment, she's also giving some serious American Hustle disco vibes here. With that low-cut neckline and cinched waist, she looks as relaxed as if she were wearing her favorite sweats, which is what makes this look truly gorgeous. Winning!

6. Lorde in custom Narciso Rodriguez

If Diane Keaton and Madonna had a baby that grew up and went to the Golden Globes, I suspect this is what she'd look like. Lorde's look is all grown up, but stays young with a crop top. Her sparkles make it suitable to the occasion and I kind of love the way her trousers are a little baggy at the bottom. It's nice to see the youngsters shaking things up on the red carpet and Lorde looked beautiful doing it!

5. Kiera Knightley in Chanel

Something about Kiera Knightley's Chanel frock reminds me of The Virgin Suicides and I mean that as a compliment. I feel like her prom date gave her that butterfly corsage right after he picked her up in his 1973 Camaro. I love the ruffles, I love the neckline, I love the column silhouette and the black satin sash is perfection. Gorgeous make-up and a sweet up-do finish off the look nicely. Vote Kiera for Prom Queen!

4. Sienna Miller in Miu Miu

As if the shape of Sienna Miller's Miu Miu dress wasn't enough to get fashionable hearts palpitating, throw in that embroidery and beading and it's an overdose of gorgeous! I love the plunging v-neck on Sienna Miller and her shaggy, messy bob with this decadent dress is a match made in red carpet heaven. Bravo!

3. Claire Danes in Valentino

Claire Danes stunned in her Valentino gown. Bold colors and vibrant pattern were offset by a delicate sheer plunging neckline and I love how she kept her hair, make-up and accessories simple. That said, the blue earrings were the icing on this elaborate cake of a red carpet look. Kudos to the Homeland star for keeping it interesting and this risky gown paid off!

2. Felicity Jones in Dior

I literally gasped out loud when I saw Felicity Jones in this teal Dior ball gown. She looks like a perfect doll and is the picture of ladylike elegance. Red carpet fashion just doesn't get any prettier than this in my opinion… The color is bold, the silhouette is the stuff of fairytales and that neckline is stunning. I love the button earrings and matching cocktail ring. A simple side-swept up-do over understated make-up on her porcelain skin ties the whole look together. Beautiful!

1. Emma Stone in Lanvin

Emma Stone in a sparkly topped jumpsuit with a gigantic bow train… Need I say more? She's always perfectly turned out and the Golden Globes was no exception. From her sexy red bob to her pointy toed pumps, she's just the picture of perfect style! I love trousers on a red carpet, I love that her jumpsuit has pockets and what's even more impressive is that she looks comfortable and ready to have a fun night.

Who was your pick for best dressed at the 2015 Golden Globes?
