Hair Helpers

I have less than manageable hair, so I rely on quality hair products to get good results when I can't make it into the salon. These are the products getting me through lately and from high end to high street, they're all winners!

1. Superdrug Style Expertise Volume Plumping Powder is a bargain and perfect for targeting specific areas that need a little volume. I primarily use this near the root with a bit of backcombing on bits of hair that have fallen flat.

2. Color Wow Raise the Root - Thicken & Lift Spray does what it says it will. I use this product on wet hair, spraying at the root before I blow dry to get bouncy volume, but I also use it on my hair when it's dry, again concentrating on the root to get increased volume while styling. Unlike other volumizing sprays, it does leave my hair sticky, tangly and unmanageable - it's an ace product!

3. label.m Sea Salt Spray is one of my all-time favorite products for adding a bit of texture to my hair. Lately I'm using it all the time for getting perfectly messy updo's and milkmaid braids when I can't be bothered with straightening or curling my locks. It's also great for beachy waves and works wonders when used together with a curling wand.

4. KMS California Free Shape Hairspray is everything you'd ever want from a hairspray. Hold without being sticky and movement without sacrificing any style. A little goes a long way and it works wonders!

5. COLAB Extreme Volume Dry Shampoo LONDON is new to my hair routine and a lifesaver. I have a blow dry once a week and when I need it to last a little longer, I reach for this product. Additionally, it's great for adding a bit of volume and texture when I need to and the best part is that it doesn't take away the shine in my hair like so many dry shampoos do. Endorsed by model and powerhouse beauty blogger Ruth Crilly of A Model Recommends, Colab Dry Shampoo is a winner and it smells good too!

6. Color Wow Speed Dry is a lifesaver for me - it reduces my morning blow dry time by at least 10 minutes and leave my hair feeling soft and looking shiny… Nuff said.

7. Trevor Sorbie Frizz Free Serum is in my opinion, just as good as any expensive hair oils or serums that I've used previously, but comes at a fraction of the price. I love this serum because it smooths flyways and frizz without leaving my hair looking like an oil slick.

What products are you using to keep your hair in check these days?
