Whether you're visiting London for the first time or consider yourself a regular in the city, afternoon tea is a lovely way to while away a couple of hours. Of course there are so many variations on this tradition these days, some gimmicky, some more about alcoholic drinks than tea and others that are completely out there, but in my humble opinion, everyone should try a traditional afternoon tea at least once.
Of course no afternoon tea would be complete without a glass of Champagne and for just £10 per person, a glass of Laurent-Perrier can be added to your order. It adds a sense of occasion besides being a delicious way to start!
I tried both Camomile Citrus and Egyptian Mint teas and both were absolutely lovely! My favorite aspects of the tea were the scones & clotted cream and the desserts, particularly the white chocolate and raspberry lollypops which have a little popping candy surprise in them.
Afternoon tea at the Lancaster London is available in the hotel's first floor lounge bar daily between 2pm and 5:30pm and is between £30 and £45 per person dependent on Champagne preference. If you're looking for a great place to try a traditional afternoon tea, I recommend visiting the Lancaster London for a delicious, relaxing good time! For reservations, call +44 (0) 207 551 6000 or book online via the Lancaster London website. As a special treat, the folks at Lancaster London would like to offer a free glass of fizz for Pink Julep readers who book afternoon tea. Just quote "Luxe" when booking or on arrival at the hotel to receive a free glass of Champagne until 30th June 2015.
