|How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are by Sophie Mas, Audrey Diwan, Caroline de Maigret & Anne Berest|
If you're on Instagram, chances are you've seen this book. I discovered it on Instagram in photograph after photograph of friends, influencers and fashionistas - I saw it so much, I went out and bought it one day. As it turns out How to be Parisian isn't at all what I was expecting, but it's definitely a fun read.
I expected a bit of a lifestyle how-to similar to Parisian Chic, Two Lipsticks and a Lover or Lessons From Madame Chic, all of which I really enjoyed, but that's not what this book is. How to be Parisian is a tongue-in-cheek look at the Parisian woman and the inconsistencies that make her so mysterious and alluring. This book is best read with a sense of humor and the proverbial pinch of salt however there are a few lessons to be learned here, all the while being thoroughly entertained.
How to Be Parisian won't take long to read - I think I read it pretty quickly over the course of a couple of days. It's the perfect book to stash in your suitcase for your upcoming holiday - it couldn't be better for a day at the beach, it's lovely for sitting in a cafe (preferably in Paris, but anywhere will do) or it could just as easily be devoured while snuggled up on the couch in your favorite, cozy sweater. Either way, How to be Parisian is a fun read and when you're finished, will be a great prop for your next Instagram photo!
