Pink Julep Weekender - May 28, 2015

Friday again - don't you just love a short week? This is what's on the radar here at Pink Julep HQ for the weekend…
  1. Eat: On weekends when the weather is nice, there's nothing better than sitting outside with some delicious food and cold drinks. One of my favorite places to hang on a sunny afternoon is Alquimia on the riverfront in Putney. If you love Spanish food, beer and wine, this is a winner… The sangria is great too! As for what to order… It's all good, so pick a few tapas to share with your pals, relax and enjoy!
  2. Watch: I attended a screening of Testament of Youth this week and it was such a great film. Set during WWI, it's based on the memoirs of Vera Brittain, a nurse during the war who wrote about it from a woman's point of view. The costumes are great, the performances are amazing and if you're not inspired by this strong woman after seeing the film, then I'll eat my hat! Testament of Youth is currently available on DVD and via iTunes
  3. Do: Online shop for summer essentials… Ethical Collection has just launched online and the selection of fabulously conscious wares are colorful, not to mention chic. The prices aren't bad either. I fell in love with the Seville Pom Pom Basket (pictured above) and it's only £42!
  4. Eat: No plans? Why not invite your friends over for some cheese fondue and wine? The best thing about fondue is that it can be enjoyed either inside or outdoors, so if the weather is nice, then great… If not, no problem. Click here for my recipe for the best ever cheese fondue.
  5. Go: Take a day trip to somewhere amazing. Get in the car, jump on the train, take a bus or rent a scooter and go see something new. If you're London-based, I highly recommend a day in Brighton and the Royal Pavilion is a must-see!
