Nu Skin 180° AHA Facial Peel

AHA Facial Chemical Peel and tweezers
180° AHA Facial Peel (c/o Nu Skin)
I have always been a little wary of any kind of peel since seeing that episode of Sex and the City where Samantha has to wear a veil after having a peel just before Carrie's book party. I've tried the odd peel product, but I've been very selective, not wanting to burn off the top 20 layers of my face, afraid I might cause more harm than good. Unfortunately, because of my fear I seem to try a lot of products that make little to no difference. Since seeing so many people rave about AHA and lactic acid peels on Snapchat, I decided it was time to try a new one, so I got in touch with the folks at Nu Skin. I've never had a bad experience with a Nu Skin product, so I figured this would be a good place to start.

The Nu Skin 180° AHA Facial Peel is easy to use and it's great for anyone who wants to maintain healthy, youthful, beautiful skin without going overboard. To use it, simply take one of the wipes using the provided tweezers from the step 1 jar and rub it over your face and neck after cleansing and toning. It's encouraged to leave it for at least 10 minutes, but I typically leave it on for about 20 or 25 minutes if I can stand it. I stings mildly for me which is normal and it's nothing unbearable. I generally find the stinging stops after about 30 seconds. Finish with one of the neutralizer pads from the step 2 jar. Finally, follow up the peel with a moisturizer and sunscreen, which is important because AHA can make your skin more susceptible to burning. I like to use the Nu Skin 180° Anti-Aging Skin Therapy System, however I've used the peel with other skincare products and it fits in nicely with any skincare regime I've tried it with. It's recommended to avoid excessive sun exposure for a week after use, so this is not a product you want to be using while you're on a sun holiday in Spain.

While it's recommended to use this peel 3 times a week, I will be the first to admit that I only successfully managed that for about 2 or 3 weeks before I started to forget or stopped having time. I have been using this peel intermittently since the summer and I find it is absolutely brilliant when I need a boost. I see results instantly after one use and my skin is more smooth, glowing and renewed every time I use it. Make-up glides on more easily and dead, dry skin seems to melt away. It's like youth in a box! Of course when I used it three times a week, there was more consistency in my skin, but I'm not great at beauty routines. C'est la vie!

What I love about Nu Skin 180° AHA Facial Peel is that it doesn't actually make me peel. There's no gross skin sloughing off my face for days later, which is a bonus. I can actually use it anytime right before I go out on days when I want my skin to look fierce. Also, I have really sensitive skin and I am able to use this peel with no issues or irritation whatsoever. Finally, I love that when I use this peel regularly, I can see a visible difference in the size of my pores, something that's always a concern for me when it comes to skincare.

Nu Skin 180° AHA Facial Peel is £59.15 online for 18 pads (which is a 6 weeks supply if you use 3 times a week as recommended). For more information or to purchase, visit the Nu Skin website.
