Weekend Edit No. 3

"Ah! There is nothing like staying at home, for real comfort." - Jane Austen

Candle and books

On Pink Julep...

• If you liked The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, then you're in luck because there's an all-new movie about Robert Langdon called Inferno, starring Tom Hanks reprising his role as Robert Langdon and Felicity Jones. I'm heading out to see it this weekend and I can't wait!

• Bob Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature this week "for having created new poetic expressions with the great American song traditon." If you're not too familiar with Bob Dylan's music, now's as good a time as any to give him a listen... Some of my favorites are The Times They Are a Changin, Blowin in the Wind, Shelter From the Storm, Forever Young and Subterranean Homesick Blues

In London...

• Why not take advantage of the beautiful Autumn scenery and go for a walk? I love walking through Richmond Park and if you're lucky, you might even spot some deer!

• It's officially soup weather and I love to take time on the weekend to chill out and cook up a delicious soup recipe or two. You can eat them all this weekend or freeze some for quick & easy weeknight dinners!

• Bonfire night is less than a month away. Have you made your plan for where to catch fireworks? Check out this list of fireworks displays around London.

• The Spirit of Christmas Fair is also less than a month away. With 750 independent boutiques carefully curated by the organizers, it's a great way to get a jumpstart on your Christmas shopping. Who knows? You might even find some treats for yourself as well... Tickets are on sale here.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Chilli Bowl - it's the ultimate in Autumn comfort food and the perfect alternative to traditional buffalo wings on game days.

• If you find yourself in West London and you're in the mood for some amazing Italian food, go to Totide in Putney. It's the best Italian restaurant I've been to this side of Italy with an amazing wine list, traditional Italian cocktails and a menu that's to die for. Owned and operated by two best buddies from Modena, this is the real deal and it's as charming as it can be right down to the Italian pop music playlist. The lasagna is quite possibly my favorite food on the planet, if you're into experimental cocktails you'll probably like the Lambrusco Spritz and the fried breads are out of this world!

Just a few spooktacular Halloween picks I've spotted online...
