Transitional Rule Breakers

Fuchsia top, striped skirt, striped bag, fedora, tights, suede boots, black cardigan, mirror sunglasses

Dressing for the weather is tricky right now... It's too cold for sundresses or shorts and too warm for winter coats or cozy sweaters. Frustrating as this may be, I personally find that Spring is a great time to get creative with layering, mixing & matching and colour for fun transitional style. It also helps to cure wardrobe boredom or a fashion rut when you start wearing the pieces in your closet in a different way than you've done so before. I'm not someone who likes to follow so-called fashion rules - I wear white before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, I keep most of my clothing in the closet year round and I have no problem pairing a straw hat with tights and suede boots... Dispensing with such rules means having more fun with my look, enjoying the versatility of every piece in my wardrobe and removing restraints from the creative process of getting dressed in the morning. As far as I'm concerned when it comes to fashion, rules were meant to be broken... I guess I'm just a rebel that way!
