This month's Beauty Edit is all about convenience and maintenance - keeping up with the status quo on the regular with little sacrifice of time or effort. This is completely coincidental, but it seems I reached for these products right about the time my schedule began to get really hectic and they've proven worth for a busy girl's beauty routine time and again. This spring & summer, I've been more active than usual, attending dance classes, going for lots of walks and hitting the gym regularly. While all of this sounds great, my laundry pile has doubled and I end up showering sometimes multiple times a day. That may not sound like a big deal and it's really not, but all these things take time, so it's a lifesaver when products work fast, reduce the number of required steps in a routine and actually work. Here's the lowdown on the products I've been reaching for to cut down on my beauty routine time...

1. Lately, I've become a big fan of micellar products because they make my face look and feel so much cleaner than other methods of cleansing without drying out my skin. With lots of workouts, lots of time spent outside in city air, which I can only imagine is filthy, and constantly wearing makeup, when I wash my face, it's pretty serious and I need it to be squeaky clean. I'm currently loving the Garnier Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash, which works just like a micellar water, but it foams up like a soapy cleanser. I keep this in the shower and it makes washing my face quick and easy. I love that you can use it all over your face including the lips & eyes and since it doesn't dry out my skin at all, it's no bother to use it two or three times a day if I need to. Sometimes, particularly if I've been wearing a lot of makeup, I follow this up with a quick swipe of the Garnier SkinActive Oil-Infused Micellar Cleansing Water to get any last traces of gunk out of my pores and off my skin.

2. When time is short, the unfortunate side effect is that manicures are few and far between. I don't know about you, but I sometimes find it difficult to sit in the manicure chair waiting for my nails to be done and then hanging around while they dry when I have things to do. I try to do manicures with friends sometimes so it's more of a social thing rather than a chore and then I don't mind it so much because I have someone to chat to, but when I have to do one for regular maintenance when I'd rather be doing anything else, I skip manis more than I should. Whether I'm doing my own nails at home or trying to maintain my pristine professional manicure, I love Orly Sealon Top Coat. At a recent appointment, I was told by the nail tech to refresh the top coat at home for a longer lasting mani and it totally works. I do this once or twice a week to make my nails last when I can, but if I don't have time to do much at all, I also love this top coat to brush on bare nails for more polished bare nails in a pinch.

3. Another facial cleanser, I know, but one is never good enough, especially if you have a busy, active period when you have to wash your face more than usual. I haven't usually been a fan of bar cleansers, but ARgENTUM Le Savon Lune Facial Cleanser has completely converted me. Formulated with Silver Hydrosol, DNA HP and Bentonite, a colloidal clay made with aged volcanic ash, this soap-free cleanser isn't your usual bar of soap. Purifying, moisturising and suitable for all skin types, Le Savon Lune leaves my skin looking radiant and feeling squeaky clean every time I use it. I keep this on my bathroom sink for washing my face at night or anytime throughout the day when I'm not in the shower and I honestly can't shout about it enough. At £104, it's certainly an investment, but it lasts for ages and if you're looking to treat yourself or to minimalise your beauty routine with quality over quantity, this is a good place to start. Who knows? Perhaps if you treat yourself, you'll finally get over that bad habit of never washing your makeup off before bed... You know who you are. (*wink*)

4. I was also pretty skeptical of these newly popular sheet masks that seem to be popping up everywhere, but after trying out the Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Sheet Mask, I'm a convert. These little beauties are super easy to use, convenient for travel or popping into your bag and super effective. My skin felt great immediately after use, but it felt even better the next day. Simply open the pouch, pop it onto your face and peel off the backing. When it's done, remove the mask from your face and massage the remaining serum into your skin, wiping off any excess with a tissue or a cotton pad. Easy peasy! These fab little masks make skincare on the go possible and easy - no more worrying about your liquids allowance on a flight or packing a whole bottle for your holiday you'll only need once or twice since the sheet masks come individually wrapped in little foil pouches. Thank goodness for new beauty conveniences like this!

5. The L'OREAL Professionnel Pro Fibre Re-Create shampoo & conditioner are meant for fine hair or fine damaged hair. I'm not sure my locks can be described as either, but I wouldn't let that stop me from using these products. What I love about them is that they literally breathed new life into my hair rather than weighing it down as so many ranges geared towards damaged hair can do. The result for me was thicker, plumper, more voluminous locks. It was so effective that when I went to my hairdresser, she swore my hair was thicker... I'd say that's a result! All that aside, I didn't get the tangles that often accompany such ranges either - just smooth, manageable hair with a lot more oomph. With all these results, blow drying my locks has been a lot easier and I don't have to spend time or money on lots of other product just to get a decent result. I've literally been able to roughly blow dry my hair, brush and go... This is a convenience I've not had in my life up until now, but I tell ya, I could get used to it!

6. I've really seen a difference in my skin since I started using What Skin Needs Hydrating Facial Serum. While I've tried serum after serum and tons of skincare products, you only read about the ones here that I really love. I can tell you that so many serums I've tried smell amazing and feel great, but just don't deliver. This gem of a beauty product hydrates, smooths and also happens to smell lovely. I typically use this just before bed with nothing else or occasionally with a night cream over top and when I wake up in the morning, I have a fresh, smooth face and it makes putting on makeup a little less arduous with a smoother canvas. It's also convenient if I'm trying to get to bed in a rush to just apply one product... Sometimes sleep takes a priority, especially after a busy day, but it doesn't mean your skin has to suffer if you have the right product on the bedside table.

That's it for this month's Beauty Edit. What beauty products do you love for saving time without sacrificing quality or results?
