5 Style Hacks to Elevate Your Winter Style

Leopard Print mixed with plaid

Tis the season when it's getting even colder and yet all the winter clothes are going on sale and selling out to make room for the latest & greatest Spring & Summer styles that will be hitting the shops as early as January. With these 5 simple style hacks, you'll be able to continue wearing the same winter clothes in your closet for the next three months or so without getting bored, all the while looking chic!

1. Colour Pop Tights
Tights are the easiest and most affordable accessory for making the biggest impact when you're trying to style a dress or skirt in a completely new way. Give that little black dress a new lease on life with a pop of colour or even a print while you show off your legs at the same time. Click here to check out my picks for the best colour pop tights.

2. Turn it Around
If you've been a fan of the backless trend (I know I am), make those pieces work two ways. Turn them around, layered over a cute camisole for a whole new look!

3. Show Your Sleeves
Layering is almost a necessity when it's super cold, but you can show off more than just your collar or the front of your top underneath a cardigan. Roll up the outer sleeve to show a little peek around your forearms. Make it interesting with contrasting colours and/or prints.

4. Double Up on Prints
Print mixing is always fun, whether you're pairing two of the same print like plaid on plaid or multiple black & white polka dot pieces, or your going all out pairing different prints. Some combos I love are leopard with plaid, contrasting polka dots, gingham with polka dots or stripes with tartans. Get creative, find patterns that complement each other and enjoy wearing pieces together than you've never matched before.

5. Don't Hide Your Socks
This is one of my favourite style hacks at the moment. I've been hoarding  cute, colourful socks and knee-highs for decades and yet I've been hiding them all along. Roll up your trousers, wear cropped jeans, pair those socks with a skirt or dress & bare legs or pop them on with a pair of heels and enjoy putting them front and centre as the statement piece in your look.
