AD | Flocking Good Brows at Duck & Dry Mayfair's Newly Launched Duck & Pluck

* Services gifted, however all opinions are strictly my own and in no way influenced by Duck & Dry or any other parties.

If you live in London you've probably heard of Duck & Dry before. A popular chain of blow dry bars across London with a ducky theme, these spaces are as beautiful as the hairstyles they churn out, but the newest location in Mayfair has a special new offering. Duck & Pluck is a space where you can have your brows and lashes tended to by top notch professionals and it's the perfect addition to this cheery beauty hub where bubbles are flowing at the bar and pampering is the name of the game.

Duck & Pluck is currently only available at the Mayfair salon located on North Audley Street (just off Oxford Street), but these services will soon be rolling out in four other locations. I recently popped along to Duck & Dry Mayfair so I could check out Duck & Pluck for myself.

The first thing you see when you walk into the spacious Central London salon is a beautiful, guilded birdcage with flowers draping over it, a neon sign that reads You Are Flocking Fabulous and a rather beautiful bar area with an exposed brick wall and a green marble bar. A frosty glass of prosecco while you're enjoying your treatments would be so lush, but since I went for an early morning appointment, I passed on the bubbly. It quickly becomes apparent that the entire space, bright and airy as it is comes with a ducky theme featuring egg shaped mirrors and lots of yellow. Another sign on the wall reminds us that Fine feathers make fine birds, a quote that perfectly endorses the services offered. Fun music is playing and the vibe is both relaxing and energising at the same time.

Duck & Pluck is situated at the rear of the salon and you can't miss it. There's a giant yellow neon sign on the wall welcoming guests to cushy, vibrantly yellow chairs perched underneath straw light fixtures. The whole environment is very on-theme and yet not cheesy, but welcoming, relaxing and fun to be in. I met with my brow tech and she was as lovely as can be. I'm a natural blonde, so I have my eyebrows tinted regularly and I opted for a shape and tint package which is priced at £30.

eyebrow tinting

We started the tinting, first with a brief consultation on colour followed by application - vaseline first around the brows and then the tint. I waited about 10 minutes for the colour to take before the tinting gel was removed and then she did my shaping with threading. The colour was perfect and the threading relatively painless. Normally I have my brows threaded and trimmed first and the tint applied at the end, but this order seemed to work just fine. I was very pleased with the results.

eyebrow threading

When the brow tech applied cream at the end of the threading, she used a soothing lotion of some sort that I think might have had lavender in it. It smelled lovely and she did a quick brow massage focusing on pressure points to apply the cream that probably lasted about 3 minutes. This little addition made the experience feel like such a luxury. I will admit that I winced a bit when I saw the price... £30 for eyebrow threading and tinting is almost double what it costs where I normally go, but once I experienced the atmosphere and the little extras in the service, I wasn't so surprised by the price tag, especially give the central location.

prosecco bar

Having a bar in the salon and several chairs in the area, Duck & Dry is more than just a place to get your brow & lash maintenance sorted... It's the perfect way to catch up with friends and sort out your beauty to-do list at the same time. Grab the girls, hit up the in-house prosecco bar and enjoy a number of hair and beauty services in one fabulous location while you catch up on all the latest gossip. Of course Duck & Pluck is great for convenience if you work in the city, but it would also make a really nice gift... Treat a friend to something she regularly needs while spending some time together to make it special. However you approach it, Duck & Pluck is such a treat and I definitely recommend check it out the next time you need some brow & lash maintenance!

Prices for services range from £12 to £60 depending on the service you need and there are also packages available including the Brow Shape & Tint Package that I received which is priced at £30. Duck & Dry Mayfair is open 7 days a week and is located at 33 North Audley Street. For more information or to book Duck & Pluck services, email mayfair@duckanddry.com or call 020 3983 1441. Alternatively the salon does accept walk-ins when there's availability.
