Weekend Radar No. 3

Weekend Radar No. 3

Several years ago I found seasons 1 & 2 of GIRLS on DVD in a charity shop and I ploughed through them both in just a weekend. It was such a great show, but at the time I couldn't find another place to watch further seasons and then I guess I forgot about it. I'm so excited that this fabulous show is now on NowTV and I'm looking forward to seeing the remaining 4 seasons.

Sick of cooking and bored with your lockdown food? I've had Pasta Evangelists on my radar for a while and I've decided to order some in for the week of my 40th birthday which is coming up soon. It's a great way to get something in that's a bit different so you can feel like you've gone to a restaurant, but in the comfort and safety of your own home. The options look delicious and it's perfect for an easy-going, at-home date night!

Unless you live under a rock, you've probably heard about this documentary and the #FreeBritney movement. I finally got around to seeing this documentary and it's a MUST-SEE! Even if you're not a fan of Britney, the information in this documentary is vital... If this conservatorship has happened to her, it could happen to anyone and that's the scary part. It's worth being informed, but be warned... You might feel infuriated after seeing it.

I've recently been dabbling in a bit of cake and cookie decorating... If you want to see my progress, you can check out my food & crafts Instagram at @pinkjulepcraftykitchenclub. Anyway, I've come across the most fantastic online shop The Cake Decorating Company and they sell everything you could ever want for cake & cookie decorating, but they also have these adorable kits that look like a lot of fun for a weekend activity and tasty too! The bonus is that they offer next day delivery so you don't have to plan too far in advance.

You may have heard about the lawsuit that FKA Twigs is filing against Shia Labouf, but she's recently detailed her experience in an article for Elle Magazine and you can read it in its entirety online for free. It's definitely worth reading to understand a bit more about the evolution of abuse in relationships and the experience the victims go through. It's a must-read and she's very brave for coming forward to spread awareness. Click here to read the full article

A true crime drama based on the real life murder of a family in Essex, White House Farm is gripping and you'll want to watch every single episode on a binge day. Set in the 80's, a family is brutally murdered in their expansive farm house, but it's pretty unclear who did it... It's a good mystery and a great way to pass some time in lockdown.

It's not the greatest film I've ever seen, but it's definitely gripping and the perfect end-of-the-world type thriller to distract you for a few hours on a lockdown evening. The cast is pretty good too. Greenland is about a family who've been selected by the government to join emergency shelters during an extinction level natural event. It's a nail biter and good fun!
